SUBLIMATION

                                                                       





                                                                            In simple words Sublimation is the phenomenon in which a solid substance, on heating ,transforms directly to its gaseous form without exhibiting its liquid state. There are so many subsatnces exhibiting this phenomenan like camphor,iodine,incense stick,etc.
               
                                                            Sublimation has so many practical uses , one important being its use in separation of mixtures. The reason behind sublimation is  resides in the atmospheric pressure i.e. when we heat the solid substance that particles get energy to move. In normal cases the atmospheric pressure is enough to keep the particles in liquid state . But in the case of particles which sublimes this is not enough hence they go directly to gases phase rather than liquid state.
